Rangers midfielder Steven Davis has taken to social media to thank fans for supporting him through injury.
The Northern Irish international picked up a serious knee knock last month and will miss the remainder of the season.
Posting a picture of himself on Instagram lying on a hospital bed after a recent operation, the Gers favourite showed appreciation for the backing he has received.
“Not how I envisaged my start to 2023 but first step on this new challenge complete,” Davis wrote.
“Thank you to the club for getting me the best in the business in Dr Williams and his team to undertake my operation & immediate aftercare.
“There will be ups and downs in the rehab ahead but very grateful for the support and messages I’ve received since picking up the injury.”
He added: “Lucky to have so many great people around me from everyone at the club, friends and family that will help me through the hurdles I’ll face moving forward and my wife Tracey who’s been amazing and by my side every step.
“Will be supporting the boys off the field and I’m excited to see how things progress for both club and country.”

The Northern Ireland captain last made an appearance for the Light Blues as a substitute in Michael Beale’s first match as boss when Hibs were defeated 3-2 at Ibrox in December.
Meanwhile, the Rangers boss could be in the market for the Davis' replacement this January window, with Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell and Everton’s Tom Davies linked with a move to Ibrox.
When asked about both midfielders Beale said: “No names, but I think they are both good players to be fair.
“Todd was an excellent player when he was young and playing against my Liverpool Under 23s. I thought he would go on and have a fantastic career. He had that at the start and he is maybe just looking for a move to reignite it but I think he is a fantastic player at a good age.
“And Tom Davies used to kick my Liverpool Under 23s team all around the place. There’s a bit of John Lundstram about him.
“But again, two really good players. Not confirming anything with those two. But there are a lot of players we are speaking to at the moment.”
