Charlie Nicholas insists that Rangers vs Celtic conspiracy theorists need to calm down.

The 61-year-old admits he finds some select fans who claim such things "pathetic".

The ex-Hoops striker says he would much rather focus on actual football action rather than VAR decisions.

And the pundit hopes things can get back to that soon.

He wrote in his Daily Express column: "I know the Old Firm game was a draw but Celtic are still ahead and they will win the league.

"I know there has been a lot of talk about VAR since that game. People have been even going on about conspiracy theories. I find it all a bit pathetic.

"It seems everybody has got caught up in VAR. Why don’t we talk about the games, the players or the managers?

"We need to get back talking about football than VAR."

Meanwhile, Celtic are reportedly set to cash in on striker Giorgos Giakoumakis in a deal worth three times what he cost.

Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds are the clear frontrunners to secure the 28-year-old signature.

However, while they lead the race, the Scottish Sun reports that clubs from another five countries are in the frame.

Their report states that Sampdoria in Italy are keen, while sides in Russia, Germany, the US and the Middle East have also made their interest known.

The Greek international is contracted until 2026, so the Hoops will command a big fee for one of their best players.

This report claims that any deal could be worth up to £8million.

With Sampdoria, it's said they want Giakoumakis on loan with a view to buying him permanently in the summer IF they avoid relegation.

While, J-League outfit Urawa are prepared to meet the Hoops asking price with a substantial down-payment and more to follow in instalments.
