Rangers need to focus their recruitment push on more attacking-minded than Tom Davies.

That's the view of Open Goal Broomhill manager Si Ferry.

The former Celtic kid insists that Michael Beale has enough players in his squad who play like the Everton midfielder.

The 35-year-old insists Davies is fine and does the simple things of the game well.

But it's simply not what Rangers need to improve their team as things stand.

He's urged Ross Wilson and Beale to recruit better midfielders in an attacking sense.

He told Grosvenor Sport: "Tom Davies is ok for me. He does alright and does the simple things well but Rangers have got enough of those types of players already. He's very similar to the likes of John Lundstram and Ryan Jack.

"Rangers need more attack-minded midfielders and I don't see Tom Davies being the guy to come in and do that. He doesn't score enough goals or get enough assists.

"Tom Davies isn't a necessity for Rangers and I can imagine he's on a fortune at Everton so I'd imagine he'd come with quite a big wage."

Meanwhile, Former Polish star Radosław Kaluzny has demanded Steven Gerrard is removed from the shortlist to take charge of his national team...because he only managed at 'mediocre' Rangers and Aston Villa.

The ex-Ibrox boss is one of three men on the shortlist to take charge of the Poles, along with South Korea boss Paulo Bento, and ex-Switzerland boss Vladimir Petkovic.

However, outspoken former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kaluzny - who won 41 caps for Poland and played in the 2002 World Cup - reckons the Liverpool icon should be nowhere near the job.
