Nadir Ciftci's proposed return to Scottish football is off, according to a report.
It's been reported that Morton have failed in a bid to sign the Turkish forward.
The Scottish Sun claim that Dougie Imrie was keen to land the 30-year-old for the remainder of the season.
They report that a deal had been struck in principle for the ex-Celtic, St Johnstone, Dundee United and Motherwell man to join up with The Ton at Cappielow.
However, it's said that the Scottish FA refused to grant Ciftci a work-permit.
It's believed that Morton chiefs are furious that the move wasn't sanctioned.

The much-travelled striker last featured in Scottish football only last year as he turned out for Callum Davidson's side.
He spent several months without a club before joining Greek outfit Makedonikos. He left at the start of January, though.
Imrie had hoped to bring in the experienced hitman to bolster their hopes of promotion.
Morton are fifth in the Championship, only three points off Partick Thistle in the play-off positions.
Imrie takes his side to Celtic Park on Saturday lunchtime to face the Premiership champions in their fourth round Scottish Cup tie.
Meanwhile, the kick-off time for this season's Viaplay Cup final has been confirmed.
Rangers will take on Celtic at Hampden for the first available trophy of the season.
The game will take place on Sunday, February 26 at the national stadium.
It will begin at 3pm in Glasgow's southside.
Ticket information for the game has yet to be announced, but the game will of course be shown live on TV by the competition's sponsor, Viaplay.
