Celtic transfer target Oh Hyeon-gu is "set" for a medical at the Scottish champions ahead of a proposed move.

This is according to Football Scotland, who claim that the striker "will undergo his medical tests ahead of completing a transfer".

The player scored 14 goals in 38 games for K League side Suwon Samsung Bluewings.

When asked about the forward in a recent press conference, Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou said: "There is progress on incomings and outgoings. It is much the same as I have said before. Nothing is confirmed yet.

"From my perspective, the status quo exists at the moment in regard to both players coming in and players leaving.

"All of it will get confirmed either way in the coming days as we countdown to the end of the window.

"[Oh Hyeon-gu is] the same as any other hypothetical question about a player you give to me or you offer me.

"I wouldn't bring them here unless I believe I thought they could contribute."

Meanwhile, Postecoglou has also given an update on Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Neither man was named in the squad for the Scottish Cup clash against Morton.

It comes after recent reports that the right-back was in "advanced talks" with Bundesliga side Union Berlin.

And now the 57-year-old has confirmed the Croatia international has been given "permission to travel" and is set to undergo a medical.

He also revealed that Giakoumakis had been given the "weekend off".

Speaking to BBC Scotland, he said: "With Jura [Juranovic] he has been given permission travel and I think he will be doing a medical. It has not been finalised but obviously if all things work out then he will be moving on which is great for him.

"I am really pleased for him and for us he will always be remembered fondly as a player who contributed to a special year.

"Giako [Giakoumakis] trained yesterday and is almost there. He has a few things going on in the background to so I thought I would give him the weekend off."
