Mortiz Jenz is set to cancel his Celtic loan deal after growing frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities, according to reports.
The German centre-half agreed a season-long move to Parkhead from Lorient in France in the summer and has made 19 appearances in all competitions.
However, the return to fitness of Carl Starfelt and the arrival of Yuki Kobayashi in the January transfer window has resulted in the 23-year-old slipping down the pecking order in Glasgow’s east end.
Jenz hasn’t featured for Ange Postecoglou’s side since the cinch Premiership resumed after the Qatar World Cup and ‘has grown frustrated with his lack of playing time at Celtic in recent weeks’, according to the Scottish Daily Express.
The report adds that the defender will be heading back to France 'imminently' but another move may well be on the cards, with clubs in Germany reportedly interested in securing the player’s services.

Speaking at the end of last month, Jenz said he was fairly content at Celtic Park but admitted he had to sit down with his representatives before making a final decision.
Jenz told German publication RBB 24: “It is hard to say because it's still relatively early. My agent and the club representatives will discuss this. I'm relatively happy at Celtic and it's really fun here.
“Every day is a dream. I hope it can continue like this in the long term. Let’s see what happens. I just keep going full throttle for Celtic.”
