Berry Ferguson admits he's baffled that neither Rangers or Celtic have made an approach to sign Kevin Nisbet from Hibs.
The Scotland striker looks set to be joining Millwall in a deal worth around £2.4million.
The Championship side failed in the first three attempts to sign the Easter Road forward.
However, their fourth offer was accepted by Hibees chiefs last night. It's now down to Nisbet agreeing personal terms with the London-based club.
He has scored seven goals in as many games since returning to first-team action for Hibs after the World Cup break.
The 25-year-old spent the best part of 2022 out of action with an ACL injury.
And as he looks to leave Scottish football for pastures new, Ferguson can't believe neither of Glasgow's big pair made an enquiry for Nisbet.
Speaking on Go Radio, Ferguson said: "It would be a great signing for Millwall but it baffles me why Rangers or Celtic aren't...I was going to say risk or gamble but he's not even that.
"I think he's good enough to play for either of the Old Firm and I'm surprised there's been no contact.

"There are still a few days left in the window, there are still six days but we've seen it in the past when good young players go for a couple of million pounds, which I think they are worth.
"Like my nephew Lewis (Ferguson) away to Bologna, (Josh) Doig away to Italy as well, (Aaron) Hickey before that.
"Lyndon Dykes is a different example, he obviously plays with Scotland but he came in late to Queen of the South and then played with Livingston.
"I like to see these young guys being kept in Scotland.
"I know eventually they will move to the bigger leagues but, for me, Kevin Nisbet at £2m - I'm taking him all day long."
