After Jesse Marsch was sacked as manager of Leeds United a number of names have been touted to replace him.
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is one of the fancied names and he is high up on the bookies' list of possible replacements.
Here our writers give their take on the situation and detail whether they think the Aussie will be heading to the Premier League.
Ange will stay, explains Aidan Smith
Leeds United will not tempt Ange Postecoglou away from his beloved Celtic. Why would he jump ship from the Scottish champions and Champions League football for a relegation battle in the Premier League? It just wouldn’t make sense to me.
I get the argument that Leeds are a sleeping giant in English football, and they have a heap of money at their disposal, but Postecoglou does not strike me as the type of person who would exit mid-way through a project. He is simply loving life in Glasgow at the moment, and this opportunity, if it is one, will not change that.
The Aussie is constantly striving to improve and in each transfer window, he impressively goes about his business to strengthen his squad in the areas that are needed. Postecoglou’s instant success makes it easy to forget that the 57-year-old has been in the Parkhead hot seat for under two years - and his attitude and demeanour suggest that he is hungry for more.
I have no doubt Postecoglou would be a success south of the border too, but supporters can rest easy that their manager will be staying put for the time being. He looks determined to write his name into the history books as a legendary Celtic boss.
Postecoglou will depart for Premier League one day, says David Irvine
Ange Postecoglou will eventually move on from Celtic - but in my mind it won't be to Leeds.
The Australian boss has shown no obvious signs of wavering commitment in Glasgow and his side are still yet to reach the peak of their powers.
Yes, the Premier League is a major pull - and Leeds United as a club too - but equally, the Celtic job is massive.
Postecoglou has taken to Scottish football like a duck to water and most probably surpassed any early expectations.
There's little surprise he's being considered by Premier League clubs, however, he'd perhaps be silly to jump ship so soon.
The former Australia boss is seeing his stock continually rise at Celtic with every passing weekend - add another Scottish Premiership title and possible cup successes to his honours list and there'll be no shortage of future interest.
Life is good for Postecoglou in Glasgow currently and to throw that aside for a risky move to the Premier League at this point seems questionable.
That's not to say Postecoglou will forever remain Celtic manager. I've no doubt if and when further Premier League suitors show definitive interest he could head south. But not yet.
Postecoglou has plenty more to achieve at Celtic and could land a more stable and higher-profile job down south if he keeps on winning.
Ange has a decision to make if Leeds come calling - Ewan Paton
“Without wanting to be inflammatory, the tragedy for Scottish football is that Celtic and Rangers now are a stepping stone for managers. They're big clubs, they're big in their league and they'll go into Europe and do remarkably well like Rangers proved.
"But the first opportunity, the first whiff of a grown-up Premier League club, most of these managers that manage in Scotland leap. Like Gerrard did with Villa, and Brendan.”
These were some of the thoughts of ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan when asked about the prospect of Ange Postecoglou being appointed as the next Leeds manager.
In fairness, he also highlighted that he wasn’t sure if this was the Australian’s time to move. He pointed to the fact that the Hoops manager probably isn’t cut from the same cloth as either Steven Gerrard or Brendan Rodgers.
However, just focussing on these quotes above, I do believe the talkSPORT co-host has ultimately hit the nail on the head.
I will always champion Scottish football. You’ll never find me taking cheap pot-shots at our own game. But I do feel Jordan is correct in what he says. Sadly, the vast majority of managers operating in the Premiership, not just Rangers and Celtic, have ambitions of trying their hand in England. It’s just the way the food chain of the game works.
The Premier League is the pinnacle, whether we like it or not. While Ange would be walking into a relegation battle for the remainder of this season, let’s not pretend that the Leeds squad are talentless. They’re quite clearly underperforming and any manager worth their salt would surely back themselves to turn their fortunes around between now and the end of May.
People forget that with the World Cup break that the Premier League is really only at the halfway stage of the campaign. There are still 17 games to go for Leeds. Plenty of time for a new man to make some tweaks, adjust the style of play and get them firing up the table.
Leeds are a genuine sleeping giant. They may have been in the wilderness until 2020, when they won promotion back to the Premier League, but if you’ve ever taken in a game at Elland Road you’ll know full well the might of the Lilywhites.
They spent circa £150million on transfers in the last two windows. Ange certainly hasn’t had any shortage of cash to spend in Glasgow, but this just shows the potential of Leeds.
To be clear, I’m far from wishing Postecoglou away from Celtic Park. But I personally feel, if Leeds come calling, this would be very difficult for him to turn down.
