Kyogo Furuhashi was sent for a scan on his shoulder after Celtic's Scottish Cup win over St Mirren.
The Japanese striker was forced off with the knock just 14 minutes into the 5-1 victory at Celtic Park.
Ange Postecoglou confirmed after the match that the forward would have the injury checked out - with Kyogo a possible doubt ahead of the Rangers Viaplay Cup final later this month.
Speaking after the win on Saturday evening, Postecoglou said: “It is his shoulder. It is something he had I think last year. He picked up a similar one.
“We will just wait and see. He will get a scan, but he is a pretty quick healer.
“I know what he is like. He will probably want to train on Monday. We need to wait and see how the scan goes.
“There is obviously an issue there but we just need to see how it goes.
“Kyogo’s nature he will be pushing to make himself available for next week. We just have to be sensible, there is a lot of football to be played between now and then.
“We will be guided by the best information we have.”
Here our Glasgow Times Sport writers assess how Celtic could line up should Kyogo be sidelined through injury...

The extent of Kyogo Furuhashi’s injury that he picked up against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup at the weekend remains to be seen, but if it does rule him out for a number of weeks, it could be detrimental to Celtic’s season.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are fighting on all fronts domestically and will be aiming to land a treble come the end of the campaign. They look heavy favourites to do just that, but with Kyogo in their ranks, their chances will obviously increase.
Kyogo’s shoulder issue will be a worry for all connected with Celtic, but how do they adapt with key fixtures coming up? A positive is that they certainly have options.
I have seen enough in new striker Oh Hyeon-gyu to believe that he is more than capable of leading the line as a first-choice frontman. In his brief appearances to date, since joining the club in January, the 21-year-old has looked sharp and energetic and he appears to have adapted quickly to the Scottish game.
He grabbed his first Celtic goal in the cup against St Mirren and now he is off the mark he will surely be hungry for more. This can only be good news for Celtic.
Oh helped his former side Suwon Bluewings to K-League survival last term with vital goals at the business end of the campaign, and Postecoglou reckons he is capable of producing similar for his new side.
“He’s a young guy but very mature and wants to make an impact, as seen in the way he’s tackled his career so far,” the Celtic boss explained after capturing the striker on a five-year deal for a fee of £2.5million.
"He’s made strong choices, he’s done his military service, he worked hard to keep his team up last year as a young striker, he made the national team squad, and now he’s made a decision to try and crack it over here.”
With a League Cup final against Rangers fast approaching, Postecoglou will have a starting XI in his mind. Kyogo is impressive as a player in his own right, but Celtic as a team are stronger. And that is why if Kyogo is ruled out for a period through injury, Postecoglou will have plenty of confidence in Oh and his fellow attacking teammates to produce the goods under pressure.

There is absolutely no doubt that Celtic are at their best with Kyogo Furuhashi in the starting line-up.
However, equally, there is rightly no panic or overreaction despite seeing the Japanese striker trudge off injured against St Mirren.
Perhaps in seasons gone by there would be a major concern with the first-choice striker facing a possible injury absence - especially with the Viaplay Cup final against Rangers in two weeks' time.
But, under Ange Postecoglou a relaxed - albeit disappointed and concerned for the player's wellbeing - attitude is emanating from Parkhead. There's good reason for that too.
Kyogo is, without doubt, the form striker in Scotland boasting 22 goals this term already.
But - as the Scottish Cup tie against St Mirren showed - Celtic have an abundance of attacking talent capable of filling in for the fan favourite.
Daizen Maeda has more than enough ability to slot into a central role should Kyogo be sidelined for any significant period of time.
Liel Abada has displayed his attacking prowess on numerous occasions with Sead Haksabanovic also keen to impress and nail down a starting spot at Celtic Park. That's all before January signing Oh Hyeon-gyu is considered for a quickfire starting position.
While Celtic fans, players and coaches would never choose to have Kyogo miss any matches - any layoff could be as much a disappointment as a perfect storm and opportunity for his team-mates to prove their worth.
Postecoglou will have a home clash against Aberdeen first before a Hampden showdown against Rangers on February 26 where his team selection could be crucial - if Kyogo is ruled out through injury.
There's no doubt Oh would be considered for a straight swap in the central forward role - but I think Maeda is the obvious choice to fill in for Kyogo having done so previously.
Maeda has been among the goals recently and a move centrally would accommodate for Abada to come in on the wing with Jota expected to remain a consistent starter for Postecoglou.
That would allow Oh to continue to ease his way into life at Celtic after bagging his first goal for the club against St Mirren.
Sead Haksabanovic and Oh are two players most clubs would hate to come up against at the start of any match - never mind if they're the reinforcements for an impressive Celtic side.
