Livingston boss David Martindale has joked he put Ange Postecoglou's CV into Leeds as speculation surrounds an approach for the Celtic boss.

The Parkhead manager has been linked with the vacant Premier League post - and Martindale echoed Ally McCoist in insisting he'd drive Postecoglou down south.

Discussing his side's upcoming match with Rangers, Martindale admitted he's been unable to stop Postecoglou's side at Celtic despite knowing how they'll approach every match.

And he joked he'd split the cost of a business class flight with McCoist if it means he doesn't have to face Postecoglou's rampant Celtic side.

“We kind of know how Rangers will play but I kind of know how Ange is going to play as well – I still can’t stop him," said Martindale in his press conference. 

"I actually put his CV into Leeds! I saw Ally McCoist saying he would drive him down but I called him and said I’ll half him for a business class air ticket!"

ON how Rangers play under Michale Beale, Martindale explained: “It doesn’t make your job any easier. Knowing and stopping are different things altogether. Rangers have a bit of confidence, a bit of momentum back in the building. Michael is slowly but surely changing their identity. Most of the players now understand what he wants.

“There’s a difference to their style, everyone can see it. It’s not too dissimilar to when Mick was with Steven Gerrard, if I’m honest. There’s not been a huge chance in terms of the players.

"There are a few tweaks there but is a Hagi different to a Tillman or Lawrence, in terms of where they like to play on the park? Kent has more of a licence to go looking for the ball as opposed to being out on the left getting chalk on his boots.

“Barisic and Tav have more of a licence to be more aggressive on the ball with the wingers coming inside. It’s very similar to what it was previously.”

McCoist had previously quipped: “He is very good. If Terry the truck driver is going to pick Neil [Warnock] up then I could head up to Glasgow and pick big Ange up."
