Michael Stewart reckons the decision to send Stephane Omeonga off in Livingston's loss to Rangers on Saturday was "extremely harsh".
The pundit insists that the midfielder should've remained on the park because the challenge he committed which resulted in a second yellow card shouldn't even have been a free kick.
The Belgian was given his marching orders for a foul on the edge of the box against Kemar Roofe.
It was a double blow for David Martindale's side, as James Tavernier then stepped up to curl in a stunning effort into the top corner.
The call by referee David Dickinson clearly irked Omeonga, while Martindale looked far from pleased either.
Their feelings were echoed by Stewart when appearing on BBC Sportscene last night, as he warned against football becoming a non-contact sport.
VAR couldn't intervene because it was a second yellow card and not a straight red or a penalty.

And Stewart told BBC Sportscene: "I don’t think it was a foul when you look at the angle from low behind.
"It’s a sensational free kick but for me I don’t think it was a foul so I don’t think it’s a yellow card. It kills the game.
"I have huge sympathy for Omeonga. If that’s a foul, we’re taking the game into a no contact sport and I don’t think anyone wants to see that. I think it was extremely harsh."
