Rangers will meet Celtic at the end of this week to battle it out for the Viaplay Cup.

The Glasgow giants will meet at Hampden this Sunday to settle the first available silverware of the season.

With a 3pm kick-off at the national stadium, the powderkeg clash has all the makings of a cup classic.

It's safe to say both Michael Beale and Ange Postecoglou will be wrapping their key players in cotton wool in the days leading up to the final this week.

But both teams do have some injury concerns heading into the derby game regardless.

Starting with Rangers, they defeated Livingston 3-0 on Saturday.

They did so without key figure Malik Tillman, though. Beale revealed that the American missed the trip to West Lothian with a hamstring issue.

It does seem likely that the on-loan Bayern Munich playmaker will train with his teammates this week, as the Ibrox physios assess his fitness closely going into the game.

One other major worry is the fitness status of John Lundstram, who was also forced to sit out the weekend's action.

With that said, Beale did seem to suggest that the midfielder would win his race to be fit in time for Hampden.

There was bright news in the sense that Kemar Roofe stepped up his return to the first team with a goal at the Tony Macaroni Arena, while Ianis Hagi was among the matchday squad yet again.

It remains to be seen whether Ryan Jack will return to the fold. The Scotland international has struggled in recent weeks with a calf issue.

Long-term absentees Filip Helander, John Souttar, Ridvan Yilmaz and Tom Lawrence will all likely miss out.

As for Celtic, their squad appears to be in a better state in terms of injuries.

There is some concern over the availability of midfield maestro Aaron Mooy after he was absent from Postecoglou's side's 4-0 win over Aberdeen on Saturday.

The manager revealed the 32-year-old sat out of that one after pulling up with a "sore one".

Kyogo did make the bench against the Dons after suffering from a shoulder problem against St Mirren in the following week.

The striker did get some minutes on Saturday, so it seems likely he will get the nod to start against Rangers, with Oh on the bench.

Stephen Welsh has suffered from injury issues this season in general. It would appear unlikely that he'll feature in the matchday squad.

Both Beale and Postecoglou will confirm squad availabilities when they speak to the media later this week.
