A FORMER Celtic star has been cleared of careless driving after prosecutors binned the case.
Georgios Giakoumakis, 28, was alleged to have committed the crime in Thornliebank on October 26, 2021.
Court papers stated the Greek international striker was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Amg Cla 45 at the time.

It was claimed Giakoumakis drove without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other people using the road or public place.
The charge said Giakoumakis was driving while operating a mobile phone in his hands and swerved over the carriageway on Nitshill Road.
Giakoumakis, formerly of the city's Hyndland, had pleaded not guilty to the charge at Glasgow's Justice of the Peace court.
A trial was to take place in March however the Crown decided not to proceed further with the case.

A Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal spokesperson said: “It is the duty of the Crown to keep cases under review. After full and careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, the Procurator Fiscal decided that there should be no further proceedings taken at this time. "The Crown reserves the right to proceed in the future."
Giakoumakis joined American MLS outfit Atlanta United FC in the January transfer window.
