Cameron Carter-Vickers has shrugged off Fashion Sakala comments ahead of the Viaplay Cup final.

The Zambian forward had branded Celtic "the other mob" and claimed Rangers were a "far better club".

However, Carter-Vickers wasn't interested in the pre-match remarks as he insisted he's got "no problem with it".

The US international gave short shrift when quizzed on the matter. Carter-Vickers said: "For me, I've got no problem with it.

"Every professional sportsman has to have some level of self-belief to get to where they are.

"For me, it's a normal comment for a professional sportsman to make."

Sakala had said: "Obviously, I know how important the game is when you play the other mob.

He added: "Yes we are better than them, so much better. But we are nine points behind! We will keep fighting anyway.

"I think we are such a better club. A far better club."

Quizzed on the importance of winning the League Cup trophy last season, Carter-Vickers said: "It was definitely a big moment for me as it was the first trophy I won.

"For the group, I think it definitely gave us a boost and helped us push on last season."

He added: "Maybe, as momentum is a factor in football and it could affect that.

"We are clear that it is separate from the league and the Scottish Cup.

"It is one game and a final. It might not have much bearing on anything else but we are definitely going to go out there and try and win the game."
