Chris Sutton could not resist having a pop at Rangers as Celtic lifted the League Cup at Hampden Park today.
The Hoops hero was on punditry duty in the Viaplay studio and he watched on as Ange Postecoglou's side defeated their rivals 2-1.
Kyogo Furuhashi was the hero as he bagged two goals and an Alfredo Morelos comeback goal ultimately was not enough for Michael Beale's side.
Sutton and Beale went head to head in the build-up to the fixture as Beale branded the Englishman as the worst player ever to play for Chelsea.
Sutton of course hit back with a reference to Pedro Caixinha before calling out Beale’s critique in another tweet.
The pundit also called out Fashion Sakala in the build-up to Sunday's game after he stated that Rangers were a better team than Celtic.
Sutton then took I'm once more as he reacted to today's result.
In the Viaplay studio, he said: “It’s a lesson for Rangers. Players have shot their mouths off in recent weeks.
“It’s better to shoot your mouth off when you’ve won a trophy – that’s a lesson for them. Maybe keep your mouth shut and win a trophy, then you can start celebrating.
“Where was Rangers’ ambition in the first-half? All they looked to do was contain Celtic.”
Sutton added on Twitter: “This isn’t a dig but Michael Beale hasn’t won anything yet as a player or a manager…”
On the game, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou said: "I think it is important that you enjoy these moments and I let them enjoy it because you are going to ask them to front up again on Tuesday and we have St Mirren away next which is not an easy trip.
"If I start talking about that and don’t enjoy this then they are going to question what they are doing. They work hard for me every day. Not just the players but also the staff and they need to appreciate and get the awards which is about tonight.
"My instructions to them are always the same, ‘enjoy your night and enjoy your success because in 24 hours' time I am going to ask you to go again’.
"If they don’t have that period of enjoyment then it is going to be hard for me to do that They are are a good group, they are really ambitious and still have a long way to go as a football club. We still know we can improve and winning things that helps that improvement."
