Rangers will make the short trip to the capital midweek to take on Hibernian as Michael Beale’s men look to cut the nine-point gap with league leaders Celtic at the cinch Premiership’s summit.

The men from Ibrox and their hosts played out a memorable 2-2 draw when the two sides met at Easter Road earlier this season in a match that the men from Govan finished with nine men after John Lundstram and Alfredo Morelos were handed their marching orders in the second half.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the crucial top-flight clash.

When is Hibernian v Rangers?

Hibs will play Rangers TODAY on Wednesday 8 March, with the game set to kick-off at 7:45pm. It is being held at Easter Road.

Is Hibernian v Rangers on TV and can I stream it?

No, this match will not be broadcast on television as Champions League last-16 matches are also taking place that evening and so the TV blackout will be in effect.

However, fans of both clubs will still be able to watch the game live. Hibs have chosen the fixture as one of their five pay-per-view allocations this season, meaning a matchday PPV pass can be purchased from the Leith club’s website for £12.99. Hibs TV subscribers based outside of the UK will be able to tune in.

Team news

Midfielder Malik Tillman missed Rangers’ 3-1 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday but the American could be in line for a return to the matchday squad at Easter Road, while left-back Ridvan Yilmaz and centre-half John Souttar stepped up their recoveries from injury by playing 45 minutes for Rangers B against Celtic in the Glasgow Cup on Tuesday. Long-term absentees Rabbi Matondo, Kemar Roofe, Tom Lawrence and Steven Davis remain unavailable.

Midfield duo Joe Newell and Jake Doyle-Hayes could return for Lee Johnson after Hibs’ 4-1 win over Livingston last weekend came too soon for them, while the club’s long-term injured – Aiden McGeady, Martin Boyle, Harry McKirdy and Rocky Bushiri – will play no part in the Premiership clash.
