It's a game that always promises fireworks.

Hibs take on Rangers at Easter Road tonight for the latest installment of a fixture that usually delivers drama in spades.

The two form sides go head-to-head in the Premiership clash this evening, catching up on the rest of the league with a game in hand.

However, this powderkeg game won't be live on TV for viewers to watch from the comfort of their armchairs.

Sky Sports have opted not to showcase this match this evening.

The game won't be live on TV as UEFA disapproves of domestic football being shown on the box in which Champions League games are also being played. 

Some English games have still been showcased in spite of this, with Arsenal vs Manchester City a recent example. It is said that broadcasters face a charge of this, though.

Scotland's Sky deal of showing 48 games a season also only allows four games per stadium until 2024, when it then increases to five.

The broadcast giants have just one game left at Easter Road this season, so has decided against showing tonight's game live.

Fans will be able to view the game still, but they will have to purchase a Hibs 'game pass' and watch it on the club's channel via their PPV steam. It will cost £12.99.

Lee Johnson's men will be looking to close the gap on Edinburgh rivals Hearts in third place. 

The Jambos are currently only five points ahead of the Hibees, so with two derby matches still to play, it could be an interesting battle to see who claims the 'best of the rest' title.

For Michael Beale, a 12th victory from 13 league matches tonight would keep the pressure on Celtic at the summit of the table.

The gap has remained at nine points ever since the former QPR man took over the reins at Ibrox.

The Hoops are also in action against Hearts this evening, so for the Light Blues, they will be hoping Robbie Neilson's men can cause Ange Postecoglou's champions to slip up.

Hibs will of course be hoping for the opposite due to their own ambitions.

Johnson's side proved to be a tough opponent for Beale in his first game in charge of Rangers way back in mid-December. The Easter Road club had the lead twice in that game, but a comeback from the hosts saw a 3-2 victory over the line for Beale to get his tenure off to a winning start.

The last time these teams met in Leith though, it ended in a 2-2 stalemate, thanks to a last-minute goal by Josh Campbell.
