Snooker legend John Higgins has credited the success of Celtic under boss Ange Postecoglou as one of the reasons he is in the hunt to win his fifth world championship.

The Hoops daft 47-year-old, who won his first world title in 1998, has nothing but good things to say about the Australian.

Celtic are currently on course for a potential domestic treble and Higgins, who has tasted success at the Crucible on four separate occasions, hopes the ex-Socceroos boss stays at Parkhead for a long time.

Speaking to STV, he said: "“Ange Postecoglou has been amazing for the club he has come in and everybody just loves him, so for as long as he stays at Celtic I think we can look forward to more games like the weekend for, hopefully, years to come.

"That’s maybe why I am feeling so good just now. It would be a dream to be able to go and parade another world championship at Celtic Park and meet big Ange, that would be an amazing feeling."

Meanwhile, Reports from South Korean media claim that Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu has left a "void" at his old club Suwon Samsung Bluewings after his move to Scotland.

The 21-year-old joined the Hoops in January and so far has three goals in 12 appearances for Ange Postecoglou's side as well as winning his second cap for his country in the previous international break.

And it appears that the K League 1 side are finding it difficult to replace the South Korea international despite signing a multitude of players.

This is according to outlet Sports Khan, which states: "Suwon (Samsung Bluewings) are feeling the void left by front-line striker Oh Hyeon-gyu (Celtic), who broke onto the European stage in the winter transfer window.

"In the offseason, they signed Bo-Kyung Kim, Acosti, Bassani and Mulich, but so far it hasn’t had much effect."
