Christian Nerlinger is reportedly not interested in the Rangers sporting director vacancy despite holding talks with the club.
It's claimed Ibrox chiefs were in contact with Nerlinger, 50, after Ross Wilson's departure for Nottingham Forest earlier this week.
However, the German is reluctant to leave his player agency where he represents a number of high-profile Bundesliga talents.
Nerlinger told Transfermarkt that he had been "contacted" by Rangers but is not interested in a role at Ibrox.
The former German international - who played for Rangers between 2001 and 2004 - said: "It is a great honour for me to be contacted by this incredibly large and traditional club.
“Rangers are and always will be special to me.
"With my agency, I have built up a very close, loyal and trusting relationship with my players over the past few years and I feel a great responsibility towards them.
"The agency is the way I always wanted it to be, and I really enjoy working with the guys every day.”
