Rangers are reportedly closing in on sealing a deal for Jose Cifuentes.

It's said that the Ibrox club have all but agreed personal terms with the Ecuador international.

And the Daily Record states that Rangers are hopeful of being able to announce the signing in the coming days.

The 24-year-old will move to Scotland six months before his contract expires at LAFC.

His deal is up at the MLS side in December this year, but Los Angeles have made it clear that they would rather sell him now than lose the midfielder for nothing.

It's said that Cifuentes' agent was in Glasgow for talks earlier this month.

And it's believed that talks are now at an advanced stage, meaning all parties are closing in on a deal.

A major rebuild is expected at the Govan club this summer and Cifuentes is set to be the first building block laid down in the close season.

He is expected to be joined by Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling at Ibrox.
