Ally McCoist believes the fallout from Ange Postecoglou's exit from Celtic could be "excellent" for Rangers.

McCoist was particularly joyous when appearing on talkSPORT this morning to discuss Postecoglou's move to Tottenham Hotspur, with the prospect of the Aussie taking a few of Celtic's star players with him to North London potentially spelling good things for the Ibrox side.

Postecoglou does have a history of bringing some of his most trusted players with him on his travels, with both Daizen Maeda and Tomoki Iwata joining Celtic from Yokohama F Marinos where they were previously coached by the 57-year-old.

Scottish Premiership top goalscorer and player of the year winner Kyogo Furuhashi was the first name reported with a potential move away to join Ange at Spurs and it looks like history could repeat itself and more could follow.

McCoist told talkSPORT: "Time will tell. I mean he has had a fantastic two seasons, of that there is no doubt.

"The interesting thing now is a couple of the Celtic boys I know are thinking he will come and swoop for one or two of his former players, whether it is Kyogo or Hatate - and certainly Carter-Vickers has had an excellent season.

"That remains to be seen, will Celtic keep their squad.

"Who is going to come in and if they will want to change the squad and make changes.

"Certainly it has spiced things up, which from a Rangers point of view is excellent."

Ange's exit could see other Celtic stars moving for different pastures with Matt O'Riley the most recent player to be linked with the exit door.

The Danish under-21 international has been on the radar of clubs in the Premier League and Germany for some time now, with Fabrizio Romano now naming Brighton and Hove Albion as one of the clubs considering a move for Celtics' young player of the year this summer.

Celtic are waiting for concrete proposals to come in for the Dane in the coming days.

O'Riley's Japanese midfield partner Reo Hatate was also linked with the Seagulls earlier this year, but the 25-year-old was quick to shut those rumours down when speaking to the media in his homeland.
