Enzo Maresca has been interviewed about the vacant manager job at Leicester City, according to a report.

The Italian is also high on Celtic's wishlist and is currently the second-favourite to replace Ange Postecoglou in Glasgow.

However, the Daily Record claims that Manchester City assistant Maresca has held discussions with recently relegated Leicester, as they aim to rebuild for the Championship campaign ahead.

They say that Maresca was interviewed about the position at the King Power just hours after City's Champions League win on Saturday.

The Foxes are believed to be speaking to several candidates as they weigh up whether to appoint a new boss or to make interim gaffer Dean Smith on a permanent basis.

Maresca is a man in demand this summer, with the Hoops keen on him. He's also already rejected Southampton this summer.

The 43-year-old has only been a manager at one club in his coaching career, and that ended in disaster after only a matter of months at Parma in Serie B.

It's not exactly clear whether he will continue to serve under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad for at least one more season, or whether he fancies going it along once more.

It comes as Brendan Rodgers moved out to become the clear favourite for the hotseat at Celtic Park.

The 50-year-old is the huge odds-on favourite at 1/5 to return to Celtic as the club's next manager.

It was reported last night that Hoops chief executive Michael Nicholson had recently flown out to Mallorca for face-to-face talks with Rodgers about a stunning comeback.
