Michael Beale has issued a Rangers transfer update revealing that he still hopes to add further new faces to his Ibrox squad.
The Govan outfit returned for pre-season training this weekend as they look to get preparations underway for upcoming Champions League qualifiers and the start of the Premiership campaign.
Senegalese forward Abdallah Sima, who arrived on-loan from Brighton in midweek, became Beale’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Kieran Dowell, Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling and Sam Lammers.
Striker Cyriel Dessers is also widely expected to join the club in the coming days from Italian side Cremonese after a protracted transfer saga.
In an interview with Rangers TV, Beale explained: "Everyone felt we wanted new faces and freshness and we've got that.
"I'm pleased to say it won't stop there - there's maybe two or three more that we're also looking to recruit over the summer.
"You sort of have the first week which you enjoy on holiday then you are busy thinking about coming back.
"It has been a really busy summer. The recruitment team and the football board have been working really hard on bringing some new players in and finalising things.
"They will bring energy and quality and motivation.
"Footballers almost have two new years resolutions, they have the one before the start of the new season and the one everyone has at the new year.
"They look bright and they have all come back in good shape which is fantastic. With the fixtures coming out it becomes very real and very exciting."
Asked what he is looking for in his new signings, Beale continued: "I always think natural enthusiasm, motivation, energy are some really undervalued qualities in a football club and just speaking to these boys and their families over the summer the excitement they have to come and join Rangers is huge. It’s a very special moment for them.
"That energy and quality they have bringing that into the building is fantastic and for the fans there’s some new faces they can get to know and support and it brings a real freshness into the building.
"From November down our league form and points total was healthy but everyone felt we wanted new faces and freshness and we’ve got that."
