Rangers are set to hold fresh talks with Graeme Souness over a potential role at Ibrox, according to a report.

It's no secret that James Bisgrove is keen for the club legend to return in some capacity.

The 70-year-old has been a visitor at Ibrox and Auchenhowie in recent months.

He was linked with the sporting director role vacated by Ross Wilson a few months ago when he left for Nottingham Forest, however, these rumours were dispelled at the time.

Now, the Scottish Sun states that Rangers will engage in further talks with the Scotland hero about taking on a position at the club.

CEO Bisgrove has previously said that this could come in the form of an ambassadorial role.

It's said that Souness - who played and managed Rangers in the 1980s - would be up for a return to Ibrox, but only if the post was worthwhile and meaningful.

Souness no longer has broadcast commitments following his decision to step back from Sky Sports at the end of last season.

The Scot conceded that leaving wasn't his decision, as he admitted that he wanted to stay on as a pundit with the TV giants.
