Steven Gerrard could be on the move to Saudi Arabia after all.

Reports have emerged suggesting the former Rangers manager could be set to head out to the Middle East for the next step in his career.

It seems the 43-year-old has resurrected talks with Al-Ettifaq in the oil-rich state.

The Liverpool and England legend had been pictured in Suadi last month, as he held initial discussions over taking over the club.

But he later revealed that he's pulled out of the running.

Gerrard told Channel 4: "I was invited over there to look at a potential offer, which I did.

"I have been analysing that for the last few days but where we stand right now, I won't be taking that offer."

He's since been linked with the vacant Sheffield Wednesday job after Darren Moore's departure.

But it seems that he's no longer in the running for that job, and so, his move to Saudi appears to be back on the cards.

It's expected he will become the latest big name in football to head out to the Saudi Pro League, joining the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and N'Golo Kante.

Of course, Celtic star Jota will also be heading to the Middle East this week too once he joins Al-Ittihad.

Gerrard has been out of work since his sacking by Aston Villa last October.
