Viaplay have confirmed a series of changes to their strategic plans moving forward.
As a result of cost-cutting measures, it will lay off a quarter of its staff in the near future.
They're the Scottish League Cup and Scotland national team broadcasters.
The Nordic company is of course the main sponsor of the League Cup, with the competition renamed last season. They exclusively show League Cup matches on their channel.
Motherwell vs Queen's Park is due to be shown live on Saturday, as the group stages of the tournament enter the third matchday. It's understood that the game will be showcased as planned, with no disruption to the TV schedule anticipated this season.
Viaplay also has a deal to show Scotland's matches on their channel until 2028.
Now, the Scandinavian streamers have confirmed they will be letting go of 25 per cent of their staff.

Viaplay CEO Jorgen Madsen Lindemann said: “We are today announcing a new strategy and plan, which includes, but is not limited to, focusing on our core Nordic, Netherlands and Viaplay Select operations (which make available a wide range of Viaplay series, films and documentaries through partners around the world); implementing a new operational model; downsizing, partnering or exiting our other international markets; rightsizing and pricing our product offering in the Nordics; undertaking a major cost reduction program; and conducting an immediate strategic review of the entire business to consider all options, including content sublicensing, asset disposals, equity injections or the sale of the whole group.”
The Scottish FA and SPFL have both been contacted for comment.
