Kieran Tierney has revealed no talks have taken place with Mikel Arteta over his Arsenal future.

Speculation has grown over the summer over a possible exit from Arsenal for Tierney.

The Scotland international, 26, was limited in his game time last season after the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.

Instead, Tierney was often called upon as a regular sub under Arteta and used to see out matches or provide a spark in the latter stages.

However, Tierney has ruled out any certainty over a move in the summer as he admitted no discussions have been held over a possible departure.

He is focused on the season ahead at Arsenal - but admitted of any transfer dealings: “It’s not really up to me.".

Speaking after the 2-0 loss to Manchester United in a friendly Stateside, Tierney added: 

“I’ve not had any discussions with the manager and I’m just working hard every day and trying to do as well as I can. I didn’t miss a single game because of injury last season.

"I was available for every match and always ready when called upon. I think everyone would agree that I never give less than 100 percent, whether I’m playing or not.

“You can’t play every single game every year and I don’t expect that. But I still made a lot of appearances last season coming off the bench, whether that was to see games out or help to get a goal, and I did all I could to help.”

It comes after reports suggested Tierney would be open to a return to Celtic.

And Brendan Rodgers didn't rule out a Parkhead return - despite the financial barriers to a possible move.

He said: "All I know is Kieran is like myself – we loved our time here.

"When I spoke to him down the road in the Premier League, every time we met up all we talked about was Celtic.

"He’s a Celtic man but he’s at a fantastic club in Arsenal. You can just never say never in football. Who knows what might happen?"
