This is the moment that Ange Postecoglou informed Son Heung-min he would become the new captain of Tottenham.

The Spurs manager handed the Sout Korea star the armband following the departure of Harry Kane from the club.

The England striker yesterday completed his €100million move to Bayern Munich.

The national team skipper ended his near-20-year association with his boyhood club in favour of a move to the Bundesliga champions.

It was undoubtedly a blow to Postecoglou and the North London club on the eve of the new Premier League season.

But the Australian boss moved quickly to replace Kane as the captain of Spurs, with Son taking on the major responsibility.

Postecoglou allowed Tottenham's TV cameras to go behind the scenes at the club's training centre on Saturday to film the team meeting.

During the speech, the 57-year-old told his players that the players will be solely in charge of their dressing room. They will make decision on how they run that space, what they need in it, and from it to help make the team as successful as possible in the campaign ahead.

After delivering that information, he went on to tell the group that Son would be the new club captain.

He said: "We need some leadership within that group with the new season coming and I've made the decision that Sonny will be our new captain for this next year, mate, so congratulations.

"Leadership is not just him, we have experienced players in this group who know what it looks like to be successful and knows what we need to do."

Son, 31, added: "Look boys, I think it's a huge season ahead for us. As captain, I want to see nice behaviour and good training sessions. I think everyone knows how important this is. 

"This season is huge. Let's all be together, same things, same way. We have a big season ahead. Let's go."

Cristian Romero and James Maddison were named as Spurs' vice-captains within the newly formed leadership group. 

Spurs make the short journey across London to Brentford for their opening Premier League fixture today.
