This is the moment furious Rangers women stars tried to force an opponent away from listening in to a mid-match team talk.

Glasgow City's Chloe Warrington was shoved and led away by Rangers players as she stood on the pitch during the clash between the clubs on Sunday. The match finished 1-1 after goals from Mia McAulay and Brenna Lovera.

The match had been paused after an injury to Rangers midfielder Chelsea Cornet. And that allowed the opportunity for players to take on fluid and receive instructions from the dugout.

However, City full-back Warrington remained in the vicinity as Rangers players received guidance from coaching staff. 

Warrington was not off the pitch and remained on the pitch as Rangers players listened to advice from the bench.

But, Rangers players were not impressed with Warrington's positioning to potentially listen in to tactical advice.

The Glasgow City player was pushed by Rio Hardy in an initial confrontation before Rangers captain Nicola Docherty attempted to lead Warrington away.

But the defender was undeterred and remained in the vicinity - leading to the Glasgow City TikTok account sharing footage of the incident with the caption: "The Chloe Warrington appreciation club". 

Speaking on Sportscene Gemma Fay insisted Warrington had done nothing against the rules of the game.

The former Scotland goalkeeper commented: "I mean you could say she was trying to play spy in the camp and she may very well have been doing that.

"Also you could say she is a left back and she's standing in the position that a left back would be standing in.

"At the end of the day she's not doing anything which is against the rules of the game. We could argue sportsmanship there, but she's not doing anything against the rules of the game."

And Fay warned that Rangers' Hardy was fortunate to escape a booking over the incident after pushing Warrington.

"I think it was Rio Hardy that pushed her," said Fay. "She is very lucky not to get a yellow card, I'm surprised the linesman didn't actually flag that up to the referee because regardless of whether or not you are frustrated or you don't want that to happen, she is doing absolutely nothing wrong.

"And I think Rangers will have to think again about how they have their little team meetings because at the end of the day, she's got every right to be where she is."
