Liel Abada will fly back to Scotland after Celtic decided to assess the winger's injury themselves, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun state the forward will play no part in his country's matches with Romania or Belarus after sustaining a quad injury in training.
Boss Alon Hazan said of the damage: "He felt a pinch in his muscle."
And the Parkhead club want to check the situation themselves rather than let him remain with his national team.
Abada signed a new four-year deal at the end of the transfer window amid interest from multiple European clubs.
A £7m bid from Sporting Club in Portugal was kicked into touch prior to the agreement being made on his lucrative new contract.
