Carl Starfelt has been appointed as co-captain at Celta Vigo by Rafa Benitez just over a month after signing for the La Liga club.
The 28-year-old Swedish international joined Celta in a surprise move from Celtic last month in a deal reported to be worth £4 million.
He's only started five league games for Celta Vigo and former Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle boss Benitez has decided to make Starfelt a joint captain of the club, along with Iago Aspas and Kevin Vazquez.
Benitez said: "I wanted someone who would serve as a positive example for the younger players on the team.
"We were looking for a profile that is professional both on and off the field, who can be a good example to help young people.
"And Carl is ideal to join the two others as captains of the club.
"The idea of having three captains is to add a different perspective to the team's leadership.
"He will join up with Iago and Kevin as leaders of the club."
Starfelt helped Celtic to a treble last season and played 87 games in all competitions for Celtic in his two-year stint at the Parkhead club.
Meanwhile, Kieran Tierney last night continued his impressive return to form at Real Sociedad.
The Scotland international joined the La Liga outfit on a season-long loan from Arsenal last month.
The former Celtic star moved to Spain to kick-start his career after a frustrating year on the sidelines at The Emirates under Mikel Arteta.
The left-back appears to be clicking back into gear already after going so long without regular game time.

He's started four matches for Sociedad since joining, and he notched his first assist for his new side last night.
KT set up the winner as Sociedad beat Valencia on the road.
The 25-year-old sent a stunning through ball behind Valencia's defence after some quick thinking at a free kick.
He picked out attacker Carlos Fernandez who turned and finished with a powerful strike.
The goal on 32 minutes proved to be the difference maker as Tierney helped Sociedad up to fifth in the table after their third win in seven games.
