Rangers fans have made their feelings known on the current situation at the club.

On and off the field the Ibrox side are in somewhat of a crisis mode as they search for a permanent replacement for Michael Beale in the dugout. 

Last weekend's 3-1 home defeat to Aberdeen was enough to seal the fate of Beale, who was sacked after only 10 months in the job. 

Steven Davis, Alex Rae, Stevie Smith, Brian Gilmour and Colin Stewart were appointed as the interim team to take the side in the meantime while James Bisgrove & Co. hunt for a successor in the manager's hot seat.

Their first game of the interim period ended in disaster. Aris Limassol embarrassed the Ibrox club in the Europa League by defeating the Scottish giants 2-1 in Cyprus. While Davis and the rest of the coaching staff were not at fault for this situation, the players have come under intense scrutiny after the result.

And prior to today's match in Paisley against St Mirren, a section of the Rangers support hoisted a banner with a clear message to the first team squad.

It read: "Heartless. Passionless. Leaderless. Not fit to wear our colours."

Rangers fell a whopping 10 points behind Celtic yesterday after Brendan Rodgers' side comfortably dispatched Kilmarnock on home soil.  They will be looking to reduce that gap today but face a stern test of their mental fortitude against Stephen Robinson's men who currently sit second in the Premiership.

Meanwhile, Davis has expressed doubt about his ability to return from injury and play for both Rangers and Northern Ireland again.

“Initially after my injury, that (returning to playing) was my number one intention,” he said. “No decision has been made, but this opportunity came up and that has delayed my rehab for now.

“You must have something that drives you whether that’s realistic or unrealistic. You just never know in football. I was hoping around this time I’d be ready to come back to training on a regular basis."
