Ben Doak has opened up on the moment he made his full debut for Liverpool.

The Scotland Under-21 international also recently started his first match at Anfield.

His first start came in a Europa League encounter with LASK. While he didn't score or assist, the 17-year-old was impressive throughout. 

He then stayed in Jurgen Klopp's starting XI for the club's EFL Cup tie at home to Leicester City a week later.

The ex-Celtic starlet admits it was a special moment to be in from the start for a game at Anfield - and he was delighted his grandfather was their to witness it. 

The only small regret he has is that he missed a golden chance to score, and that's something he's looking to rectify for the Reds.

Ahead of  Scotland U21s taking on Hungary, he spoke to the national team's social media channels.

Doak said: "Now I'm training with them every day (Liverpool first team). I'm trying to learn off them all, some of them are the best in the world.

"My grandad was at the Anfield game (first start). Really enjoyed it, the crowd was electric. Missed a sitter though, need to start scoring. It's a challenge I need to rise up, I just need to learn off them (Liverpool team) that's how I will get there.

"He (Andy Robertson) has done everything in the game, won everything. He keeps me grounded."

Meanwhile, this is the moment that Ange Postecoglou delivered a rousing motivational speech to the Australia national team ahead of their upcoming match against England.

The Spurs manager was invited to speak to the first-team squad at their hotel in London as they prepare for the international friendly at Wembley on Friday night.

Guus Hiddink also delivered a talk to the team. He of course managed the national side as they reached the World Cup in Germany 2006.

There were plenty of familiar Scottish football names in the room to listen to both of the experienced managers.
