Juventus have "opened talks" with Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson.

This is according to a report from Italian newspaper Tuttosport which claims that the Serie A giants are "in talks with the Scotland international's agent ahead of the January market".

They also state that Bologna won't consider selling the player the 24-year-old on the cheap.

Son of former Rangers player Derek and nephew to ex-Gers and Scotland captain Barry, Ferguson became the joint-highest scoring Scot in Italy's top flight this season.

The former Aberdeen star moved to Italy two years ago and has provided three goals and four assist so far this campaign.

Outlet Gazzetta dello Sport previously claimed it could take up to €20m for Juventus to sign Ferguson.

The Dons will receive a portion of the fee if he does move on as they have a sell-on clause as part of their arrangement with Bologna.

Meanwhile, Lazio star Ciro Immobile swerved the opportunity to take a dig at Celtic after his side's 2-0 victory at the Estadio Olimpico.

The Itay international came off the bench to net two late goals which ended Brendan Rodgers' men's European campaign.

And at full time the 33-year-old was asked what it was like to play against a team "with little quality on the night" and "with little left to play for" as the interviewer fired several pot shots at the Parkhead side.

But Immobile refused to twist the knife in further. Speaking to Sky Italia, he said: "We knew it was a balanced and tough group. They are all teams used to playing this competition, for us it was only the second time in recent years.

"It will be tough until the end. We started well because the first points gave us good morale."
