Celtic are keen on a loan move for Liverpool defender Owen Beck, according to a report.
However, it seems any potential deal is very much in the hands of the Premier League giants at this stage.
Football Scotland states that while Brendan Rodgers' side are keen on Beck, who spent the first half of the season on loan at fellow Premiership side Dundee, they'll have to wait until Liverpool's two first-choice left-backs, Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, return from injury.
It's expected that the left-sided defensive duo will be back in full training by the end of January.
The Reds recalled Beck from his impressive loan stint at Dens Park for cover, with Jurgen Klopp feeling his team were short in that area.
So, the report suggests Celtic will have to play the waiting game to discover whether or not Liverpool will allow him to return north of the border for a second loan to Scotland.
It is thought that a loan move to the lower leagues of England could be preferable for Beck's development, though, with Greg Taylor still very much first pick at left-back for Celtic.
It's said that Rangers also intimated an interest in Beck having monitored his progress at Dundee, much like Celtic.
Both Celtic and Rangers are keen on bolstering in the left-back area.
