Rangers target Jefte's loan club have hinted they expect the deal for the defender to move to Ibrox to go through imminently.
Philippe Clement's side are closing in on a move for the Brazilian left back before the end of the transfer market this upcoming week.
The deal is complicated because the 20-year-old is on loan to Cypriot club APOEL from Brazilian giants Fluminense and he would have to end his spell on the Mediterranean island first before he could move to Glasgow.
He was left out of his club's 4-0 win at Nea Salamis on Friday and manager Ricardo Sa Pinto was asked about the future of Jefte after their win.
He said: "With Jefte, this is an internal matter that is currently being handled by the club.
"If there is anything new we will inform everyone officially. Be patient and the information will be clear in the next 24 to 48 hours."
The defender is under contract with the Rio de Janeiro club until the end of next year. He signed his first deal with the club two years ago and stated then: "I'm very happy and fulfilling a dream of being able to defend the colors of Fluminense.
"It's a very happy moment for me and my family."
