Clubs in the Premiership have been active over the January window as managers attempt to secure signings that they hope will improve their squad for the remainder of the season, while also sending players out on loan transfers.
Celtic are five points in front of Rangers at the Premiership summit and have signed 24-year-old Nicolas Kuhn from Austrian club Rapid Vienna for a sum of £3 million.
The German winger put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year deal for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
There have also been departures from Parkhead with centre-back Nat Phillips returning to Liverpool at the end of his loan deal, while Hyeokkyu Kwon and Adam Montgomery have been transferred to St Mirren and Motherwell respectively, as did, Yosuke Ideguchi, but on a permanent move to J1 League club Vissel Kobe.
Meanwhile, Rangers, in their first window under new manager Philippe Clement, have seen both forward Fabio Silva and midfielder Mohamed Diomande arrive at Ibrox on loan from Wolves and FC Nordsjaelland.
Alex Lowry has returned to Govan after the termination of his loan deal to Hearts, while Sam Lammers has departed on loan to FC Utrecht as Steven Davis announced his retirement from professional football.
Hearts, who are ten points clear in third place have also witnessed transfer dealings at Tynecastle with a loan deal for Wolves right-back Dexter Lembikisa. Steven Naismith has also prepared ahead for next season by agreeing a deal with Ross County to sign midfielder Yan Dhanda.
The Jambos have also negotiated with Livingston and Motherwell for loan deals with Michael McGovern and Andy Halliday, while Ross Stewart and Connor Smith have departed to Partick Thistle and St Johnstone.
Nick Montgomery has also secured further additions to his Hibernian side by recalling defender Kanayo Megwa from Scottish Championship club Airdrieonians.
Forward Myziane Maolida and attacking midfielder Emiliano Marcondes have joined Leith on loan from Hertha Berlin and Bournemouth, with midfielder Nathan Moriah-Welsh signing a permanent contract from the Cherries for an undisclosed fee.
There were also loan deals for Dylan Tait, Riley Harbottle, Max Boruc and Allan Delferrière to Falkirk, Colchester United, Arbroath and Czech side MFK Vyškov.
Elsewhere, Greg Stewart has returned to Kilmarnock on a deal until the end of the season after he departed from Mumbai City. The attacker was previously at Rugby Park on loan during the first half of the 2018/19 season from Birmingham City.
