Brutal Reo Hatate injury news has emerged in Japan after the Celtic midfielder limped off for his national team during the Asian Cup.
The 26-year-old was forced off earlier this week against Bahrain and when he left the field of play he appeared to be holding his calf.
Now Japanese outlet Gekisaka has claimed that Hatate has torn his calf and he could be missing for up to eight weeks due to the problem.
The report goes on to state that the midfielder will remain with his national team for his first stage of recovery before returning to Glasgow.
Japan boss Moriyasu spoke about the injury after the game and wasn't giving much away. He said: "I want to hear the diagnosis from the doctor.
"However, it hurts both the players and the team when someone gets injured, but no matter who gets injured, we need to maintain the flow of the game and win. I think today's match gave me more confidence."
