Maik Nawrocki was lucky to avoid a red card during Celtic's 1-1 draw with Aberdeen today.

That was the viewpoint of Dons legend Russell Anderson, as fellow Sky Sports pundits Kris Boyd and Charlie Mulgrew agreed.

The defender was booked for a barge on Killian Phillips in the first half which was totally dominated by Brendan Rodgers' men.

After the break, the Dons were fired up by interim manager Peter Leven, and they took the lead through Bojan Miovski.

A short while after, the North Macedonian striker was clattered by Nawrocki, with the Dons players and fans calling for him to be sent off by referee Steven McLean.

Nicolas Kuhn went on to equalise for the visitors a short while later.

And Anderson reckons the Polish defender was lucky to remain on the field.

He said: "Very lucky. You talk about turning points in games and stuff and I know there was a long way to go after the potential incident we're talking about but I just cannot see how that second incident is not a yellow card.

"It baffles me how you can get a decision like that wrong and it does make you wonder if he hadn't been on a booking, would he have given him a yellow card."

Boyd simply added: "Agree," as Mulgrew also nodded.

Meanwhile, Rodgers insists Celtic need to 'sort it out' on the pitch.

"It's two points dropped," he said. "We had chances, good chances, in the first half. You could see Aberdeen were a little bit nervous in the game and we had to try exploit that. 

"In the second half we were loose with our passing. I think the big thing when you play in this type of game, you go out and win your first, second and third balls when it's that direct style."
