Rangers' Player of the Year nominees have been announced.

Light Blues captain James Tavernier leads a five-man shortlist that includes Jack Butland, John Lundstram, Abdallah Sima, and John Souttar. 

Tavernier has netted a remarkable 23 goals and provided 10 assists from his 49 appearances this season, and is on course to break a world record for penalties scored in one campaign. The right-back has helped lead by example and guide Rangers within touching distance of the Scottish Premiership title. 

Meanwhile, Butland has proved a shrewd acquisition on a free transfer from Crystal Palace last summer. The Rangers number one goalkeeper has conceded just 20 goals in his 31 league outings, keeping 17 clean sheets in the process.

Lundstram has been ever-present in the Gers' midfield and demonstrated his quality throughout the latest European campaign with his influential performances.

Striker Sima, has justified why Rangers signed him on a season-long loan from Brighton. The Senegal international boasts 26 goals, which emphasises he knows where the net is, and has shown he can come up with important strikes during his 35 outings so far.

Finally, Souttar's inclusion comes after an injury hit start to life at Ibrox. The defender has since shrugged off any knocks and formed a strong partnership with Connor Goldson in the Rangers back-line. Helping the team keep the league's most shut-outs.

The options for Rangers' Young Player of the Year are breakthrough star Ross McCausland, academy duo Cole McKinnon and Leon King, plus on-loan Wolves forward Fabio Silva.

The goal of the season award rounds off the men's voting. And the candidates are; Tavernier's incredible effort against Ross County on October 10, A Sima's strike at Tynecastle in December, Cyriel Dessers' stunning solo goal during a Europa League clash with Real Betis, Tavernier's Viaplay Cup winner, plus Rabbi Matondo's crucial equaliser in the recent Old Firm clash.
