Rangers will be without Leon Balogun as they face arch-rivals Celtic this weekend. 

And that means Ben Davies is set to start the match at Celtic Park, according to a report.

The Scottish Sun states that Balogun will not be risked by Philippe Clement after he sustained a back injury during last weekend's 4-1 victory over Kilmarnock.

Davies was a half time substitute in that game. He scored Rangers' second to set them on their way to a comfortable win against 10 men. It was his first in a Light Blues jersey.

It was the only appearance in five months for the 28-year-old. So, he's set to double his recent game time this week by making up Rangers' backline with John Souttar, Borna Barisic and James Tavernier against Celtic.

As far as Balogun in concerned, he should be fit in time for the Scottish Cup final on Saturday, May 25. This game will also be against Celtic.

Connor Goldson was ruled out for the remainder of the season last Friday after hurting his medial knee ligaments in training.

There is positive news on Ryan Jack, though. The midfielder stepped up his recovery from injury with an appearance in a closed-doors friendly at the club's training centre on Thursday. 

He played for Rangers B during their Glasgow Cup game versus Queen's Park.

The Scotland international hasn't featured since March 7 during an away tie against Benfica in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, former Rangers assistant Neil Banfield has landed a new job - seven months after Michael Beale was sacked at Ibrox.

The hugely experienced coach - who worked under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal - has been appointed No2 at English club Stevenage.

The League One club named Alex Revell as manager today - with Banfield brought in to help the manager. Former Celtic defender Scott Cuthbert has been appointed as a first-team coach in the management shuffle.
