Celtic hero Chris Sutton last night slaughtered Kenny Miller over his "unique punditry" covering John Lundstram's red card for Rangers.

The former striker poked fun at his fellow co-commentator at the Celtic player of the year event hosted at the Hydro.

Sutton had been alongside Miller in the gantry at Celtic Park for commentary duties with Sky Sports as Brendan Rodgers' side triumphed to move within touching distance of the Scottish Premiership trophy.

And the pundit was left stunned by Miller's claim that Lundstram should not have been sent off for his lunge on Alistair Johnston in the first half.

Willie Collum booked Lundstram before upgrading the decision to a straight red after being advised to review the incident at the pitchside VAR monitor.

Sutton was certain a red was the right call, but Miller launched into a rant over it being the wrong decision. The Celtic hero even went viral on X for his comedic reaction to Miller's take.

And he referenced Miller on stage at the Hydro during the Celtic awards night as he congratulated the pundit on his "unique punditry that no one else in the universe agreed with.

Smirking Sutton said: "First of all, can I congratulate Brendan and the team on their performance yesterday

"And can I also congratulate Kenny Miller? For his unique piece of punditry that no one else in the universe agreed with."

Furiously defending Lundstram, Miller had said: "He's going to win the ball, Johnston plants his leg and he catches him. Every tackle like that cannot be a red card. 

"See in real time, that's never a red card. Never a red card. Now, looking at the still."

After the decision, he continued: "You know what, the way the game is going now, that is not a red card. There's no way that's a red card. 

"Every kick can't be a red card. Alistair Johnston plants his foot in the way of where John Lundstram is going."
