Joe Hart cut an emotional figure as he burst into tears on the pitch following Celtic's 1-0 victory over Rangers.

Brendan Rodgers and his players made it a league and cup double this afternoon after Adam Idah's last-gasp winner at Hampden.

The on-loan Norwich striker reacted quickest to Jack Butland's mistake in the 89th minute, as he slammed home from close range.

Hart retired following today's match, with the experienced goalkeeper announcing back in February that he would hang up his gloves this summer.

And he couldn't fight back the tears at full-time as the former England No.1 showed the raw emotion that football can bring.

Back-up keeper Benji Siegrist was caught on camera consoling Hart at full-time as the celebrations kicked into gear. 

A few moments later, as the cameras panned on the players walking around the pitch at the national stadium, Hart could still be seen crying.

He was then pictured kissing the badge and beating his chest as the Hoops supporters chanted his name.

Meanwhile, Celtic captain Callum McGregor has said Celtic's success comes from the desire to prove doubters wrong as his team defeated Ragners to pick up a domestic league and cup double at Hampden.

He told Premier Sports: "It was a great cup final and I thought both teams made it a good game. It was edgy, tight, everything you expect from a cup final.

"Our boys' mentality (is different)... We faced question after question after question and they are so tight. They want to prove people wrong, be together and win trophies and that's how you do it.

"You have to stick together when people write you off and they do so with this group at their peril. We were probably big favourites today in terms of the form table but we knew it was never going to be easy.

"You have to stick in, grind it out and find a moment of quality. You have to put your body on the line and that's what we did."
