Up to eight players could be on their way out of Celtic this summer, according to a report.

Brendan Rodgers is looking to build on his league and cup double-winning squad ahead of next season as the Northern Irishman looks to make improvements.

It was a successful season for the Hoops in the end, but most fans would admit that it wasn't exactly vintage Celtic for the most part.

And so, a number of fringe players are expected to move on from Parkhead during pre-season.

The Scottish Sun has named eight of those who look likely to depart - whether it be on a permanent basis or just on loan.

And Oh Hyeon-gyu is the headline name at the front of the clearout.

The South Korean striker was signed for £2.5m by Ange Postecoglou but has barely featured for the club under Rodgers.

Was was nowhere to be seen from the weekend's Scottish Cup final-winning squad.

He signed a five-year deal when he arrived in January 2023. So, while the chances are high that his game time will be limited against next season, it seems if any buyers are out there then Oh will be on his way out of the club.

With Celtic hoping to strike a deal with Norwich City for Adam Idah as well, they may need to create room in the forward areas by moving Oh on.

Other players on the cusp of the squad who seems destined to leave are Gustaf Lagerbielke, Yuki Kobayashi and Benji Siegrist.

The former saw a loan to Italian side Lecce blocked in the January transfer window, much to the Swede's frustration. However, the other two have barely been seen with regard to first-team matters.

Sead Haksabanovic - who spent last season out on loan at Stoke City - is expected to leave too. Kwon Hyeok-kyu joined St Mirren in January and another loan appears to be on the cards.

Alexandro Bernabei is on loan at Internacional until the winter window - and it seems that's exactly where he will stay for the time being.

Talented youngster Bosun Lawal has several clubs north and south of the border chasing his signature, so a further loan to continue his development would make sense for Celtic's recruitment chiefs.
