Rangers have been linked with a transfer move for Penarol midfielder Damian Garcia.
The 20-year-old Uruguayan currently plays in the top flight in his homeland but is out of contract at the end of the year.
Rangers have been credited with an interest in the midfielder but it is unclear whether any formal approach has been made.
Journalist Nathan Joyes reported the midfielder had been linked with an Ibrox transfer but Penarol are keen to keep hold of the player until December.
Reporter Klaus German states the Uruguayan club would, though, be willing to agree a transfer if the player is loaned back until the end of the season.

The commentator and reporter revealed: "Peñarol wants to keep him until December.
"They’re willing to sell him during the summer transfer window IF they let him stay until the end of the season.

It comes after Garcia's agent Edguardo Lasalvia blasted Penarol over the wage being offered by the club as he explained transfer interest from the MLS, Mexico and "other markets".
“I really like the MLS for Damián, but there are chances for Mexico and other markets," said the player's agent.
"If Damián didn't have me, he wouldn't be able to live like a professional and perform as well as he does.
"If not, he would not be able to pay rent, live as he lives and help his mother, who cleans floors.
"What happens is that the contracts expire and you have no obligation to renew. And even less so if you offer me two pesos, like the vice president did. He offered Damian Garcia two pesos for renewal."
