Kyogo Furuhashi revealed he has no intention of returning to Japan now after the Celtic hero was linked with a shock return to his homeland with Urawa Red Diamonds.
The 29-year-old was back in Japan as a special guest for his old club FC Gifu's J3 League clash with Azul Claro Numazu this weekend.
After the game, Kyogo was asked about his future plans.
And the Hoops ace paid tribute to now-retired keeper Joe Hart after his incredible farewell which saw him lift the league and Scottish Cup double.
He said: "Honestly, I'm not sure what my future holds. But I want to work hard overseas for as long as I can.
"And if I can come back someday, I'd like to come back to Japan and play in front of you all.
"This season at Celtic, we lost the first game of the League Cup, but in the end, we were able to win the League and Scottish Cup.
"It was the year that Joe Hart was retiring and we all came together at the very end and put in a good fight, so we were able to send him off on a good note."

And Kyogo remains desperate to play at a World Cup after he was snubbed for the last one.
He said: "It's not just me, but all football players have the national team as their No.1 goal. I want to keep scoring goals wherever I am so I can get in the team.
"The Japanese national team and the World Cup are waiting for me. I want to cherish what is in front of me."
Brendan Rodgers will be looking to hold on to his star striker this summer, however, does have his sights set on signing Adam Idah from Norwich City.
The Republic of Ireland forward spent the second half of the season on loan with the Scottish Premiership champions, and it's believed his parent club are looking for £7m if any transfer is to go through.
