Celtic fans booing Santa Claus in the days leading up to Christmas last year (when he was seen at Ibrox with the League Cup days prior) was definitely one of the 2023/24 Scottish Premiership campaign's weirdest moments.

But it wasn't as strange as Saint Nicholas himself presenting Brendan Rodgers and his players with the league trophy last month at Celtic Park.

To be fair to those who made it happen, this instance of tongue-in-cheek introspection was a clever one in marketing terms – and for The Celtic Way's Ryan McGinlay, even served to illustrate how Celtic mended their online relationship with the support.

Now, several weeks on from Kris Kringle's unseasonable appearance in Glasgow's East End, the bearded man himself has been immortalised in artwork form, red suit, Celtic scarf, league trophy and all.

Alongside a few joking "boo" replies sits this gem of an anecdote shared by one Celtic fan.

"Man, I had friends over from Australia for this game," said one Reddit user. "They were visiting family in Birmingham but made the journey up because all their lives they had heard stories from their dad about the glory of Parkhead, the greatest fans and atmosphere in the world.

"Anyhow, we get horsed 2-0 and boo Santa off the park.

"They had an awesome time as well."

Fast forward five months, and Jolly Old St Nick was of course back in Glasgow on a sunny day at Paradise.

Celtic overcame St Mirren 3-2 on trophy day at Celtic Park, having already clinched the 2023/24 championship a few days earlier with a storming 5-0 rout of Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

Santa in the summertime was definitely a weird one, but the artwork above perfectly captures a moment in time for Celtic fans and Brendan Rodgers' return as Celtic manager.
