Former Celtic midfielder Landry Nguemo has passed away at the age of 38.
Having played at Celtic Park under then manager Tony Mowbray during the 2009/10 season, on loan from Nancy, Ngeumo also turned out for the likes of Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne and Turkish side Akhisar Belediyespor.
Despite making 35 appearances for the club throughout the 2009/10 campaign, Celtic and Nancy failed to agree terms at the end of the player's option-to-buy loan period and he returned to his parent club in the summer of 2010.
Born in Cameroon, Nguemo accrued 41 caps his national team, scoring three goals between 2006 and 2014.
FootballMercato reports the 38-year-old was killed during a road accident.
Former club Saint-Etienne paid tribute to the player on social media.
🖤 Landry Nguemo nous a quittés. Bien trop tôt, bien trop brutalement.
