Celtic are reportedly facing major transfer frustration in their pursuit of Wolves defender Hugo Bueno.

The Parkhead club are said to be among a long list of teams tracking the full-back this summer.

It's claimed loan talks started by Brendan Rodgers' side have been greeted with a reluctance by Wolves.

The Daily Mail report an offer to sign Bueno on loan in January was thrown out by chiefs at the Premier League club.

According to the outlet, Celtic have returned to the table to try and land Bueno on a season-long loan this summer but negotiations have hit a roadblock.

Wolves are reportedly unwilling to let the Spain under-21 internationalist leave the club at this point.

It leaves Celtic facing frustration in their attempts to sign the defender as another option at left back where Greg Taylor has often been the only genuine first-team player in the position.

Celtic supporters have watched Bueno in action at Parkhead before when he was involved during a friendly.

The defender played in the 1-1 draw between the clubs last summer in Glasgow.

While Celtic face missing out on Bueno, they're reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Paulo Bernardo.

It's thought the midfielder - who was on loan from Benfica last season - was undergoing a medical on Tuesday night.

Bernardo, 23, will reportedly join Celtic in a deal worth £3.4m after Celtic renegotiated a lower fee than the purchase option in his loan deal last season.

The transfer will also include a hefty 30 percent sell on fee on any future transfer for the midfielder with Bernardo to pen a five-year deal.
