Former Rangers player Nacho Novo has reportedly announced his interest in the Raith Rovers manager's job, following the shock dismissal of Ian Murray.
Murray was relieved of his duties after a 1-0 defeat to Airdrieonians in the first game of the Scottish Championship last weekend, having led the Starks Park side to the Premiership play-offs last season.
The club officially said the decision to terminate Murray's contract had been considered following poor form in the run-up to last term's play-offs, and expressed a firm desire to move in a different direction.

Former Rangers hero Novo would like that to be him, according to Dundee publication The Courier. Novo, of course, once played for Raith before moving to Dundee and then onto Ibrox.
With the likes of Celtic youth coach Darren O'Dea, Kevin Thomson and Peter Leven all reportedly in contention for the vacancy, where Novo sits among those names is a matter of debate.
According to The Courier, Raith chief executive Andy Barrowman said he has been "inundated" with inquiries for the job, and affirmed "the door is pretty much open, but we are pretty clear in our mind on the path we want to go down."
